Cuckoo: Prosperity. heralds spring. When you first hear one turn your money over to get more.
Dove: Reconciliation and love. emblem of Venus. A symbol of peace and healing quarrels. If a white dove perches on a roof there will be a marriage soon.
Duck: Consolidation. a quacking duck away from water means prosperity. Flying ducks mean happier times are coming.
Eagle: Vision and courage. The King of birds. Courage and power. Its feathers carry prayers. Emblem of Zeus and Jupiter and earthly power.
Falcon: Vigilance. An omen warning of disaster if it swoops from the left.
Goose:Home. Linked with Hera and Juno symbol of domestic happiness. To hear geese cackling means you have hidden enemies.
Hawk: Enlightenment. Sacred to Horus. The triumph of light returning after dark, and emissary of Apollo.
Hummingbird: Truth and joy. If you hear one it brings health and happiness. The feathers are good luck charms.
Ibis: Wisdom. The incarnation of Thoth, Associated with Hermes and writing.
Kingfisher: Harmony. After you see one the next 14 days will be tranquil. Associated with Yule.
Magpie: Good news. A divination bird.
Ostrich: Justice. A symbol of Maat. Balances the hearts of the dead. The egg is a symbol of fertility.
Owl: Learning, wisdom, and bringer of bad tidings. Bird of Minerva and Athena. Bird of the darkness and the Crone. One form of Gwynn, God of the underworld.
Peacock: Lasting happiness. Elders bird of Juno. If it spreads its tail feathers it means happiness and prosperity. Symbol of immortality. A weather prophet.
Pelican: Motherhood, nurturing indicates maternal instincts.
Quail: Fertility, fire, and passion. To see one brings fertility. Eat the eggs at a full moon to increase your fertility. Heralds coming of spring and victory.
Raven: Battle. The guardian and prophet of disaster. Sacred to Bran. If they leave and are it indicates hard times are coming. The birds of Odin. If they nest in your house they bring luck. They are finders of lost property.
Robin: Compassion. Can grant wishes. If one visits your garden it brings good luck.
Seagull: Travel. The souls of dead sailors. If a gull settles on a ship, the journey will be good.
Stork: Babies, children. Bringer of life. The Goddess as a mother, sacred to Venus. A nest near your home is a blessing.
Swallow: Revival, consolidation. The awakening after winter. Renewal of life. Sacred to Isis.
Swan: Creativity. The souls of great artists past.
Turkey: Self sacrifice. A sacrificial bird.
Wagtail: Love. A divination bird.
